What is the best way to align the hood from left to right? I have a preety good size gap on the passenger side fender and hardly no gap on the driver's side. Would shims help to move it over from the drivers side?
Best way is to open the hood and push it over at the base untill its even. Have someone keep their hands on the front just so you dont accidentally jar the prop rod out. It will move easier than you think.
With the hood up and the bolts only snug ... not tight ... use a rubber mallet to tap and slide the hinges left and/or right until the hood lines up ...
Also your fenders can be moved side-to-side, there is a bolt in a slotted bracket behind the headlight door just outside the grill.
Also make sure that your hood hinges are not worn out. If they are, it can make the hood misalign. The rivets can be hammered down to eliminate some of the play. Seth
I think this is the problem I have right now. Gonna try a combination of all these suggestions and hope to come to some type of happy medium. Thanks all.
