Leaf Spring Bushings

    1973 Maverick Grabber, 347 4V w/F-1X, 1974 Maverick Grabber 302 4V, 1974 Maverick Grabber 302 2V, 1971 Maverick Grabber 302 4V.
    Does anyone have any tips on replacing the Leaf Spring Bushings on my 74? I didn't think it would be a real big deal till I ordered them at Auto Zone yesterday. The guy said that it's hard to do without a press? He said it is very hard to get the old ones out & the new ones in. Mine look very much deteriorated & dry rotted on my 73 & 74. Any advise appreciated.

    Back ones are real easy to replace. Front ones are pressed in.

    Missing my old '70 Maverick
    Mine started getting an attitude and wouldn't come out. One propane torch later, they came out real easy!

    I had mine pressed out, which requires removal of the springs. The new ones just tap right in with a hammer...

    a 1971 Grabber with a 302/351
    :2cents: The night before you do the job...place them in a freezer and remove them just before you do the install.....the process makes the job go alot easier....
