Do you then pull air from the engine compartment for the vents and heater? Sounds like a good way to get CO poisoning.
I put this on my "to do" list also. I was thinking about taking the air in through the area when the water drains are. Maybe using some flexable air hose and those plastic inlet manifolds the Nascar boys use to cool their brakes and get air into the race car interior
just put the hoses in an area where NO fumes will come in from. i have my cowl fiberglassed over. i do get some fumes in the car, but i think they come in from the firewall, which has some holes i need to fix. i drive with the windows down, so i dont breathe it as much, but my clothes smell bad after a day of driving. i wish it didnt. not sure where this comes from.. the exhaust isnt leaking, so maybe it is a leaking header.. i dont know
Why even bother with getting fresh air to the heater/ac? It will cool and heat faster and better just using the cabin air. If you need to add a little fresh air, then just crack the window a bit. That's the same thing MAX or recirculate does on the AC now, close off the outside air....
