OK it looks like you guys go to a lot of shows. That is awesome!!! Do any of you have a run down of shows you attend with dates? I now some of you are going to the NPD show in Ocala, FL.... I will be there too, just bought my tickets this week. What other shows are there across the US that you attend. When is this Round-up you guys keep talking about? I am compiling a list, so any contributions would help!!! (OK i will jump on the nanna band wagon... :bananaman ) Thanks, Shelby
One of biggest shows in my opinion is Ford Carlisle. It is probably one of the biggest all Ford shows on the East coast. Check out the link below. http://carsatcarlisle.com/ Then you have our annual Round up. Read all about it here: http://www.maverickcometclub.org/calendar_of_events.php3 By the way, I will be at the NPD show so be sure to come buy and thump me on the head for the "big bumper" remark.
If you can go any show, other than or in addition to the Roundup, it should be Carlisle. We'll be there again in '04, just after we come back from Charlotte attending the Lowe's 600.
I went to Carlisle this year and got soaked. But I had a blast!!! I found a Maverick there that was I think a '72 blue/white with impala taillights. It looked really good!!! I will try and go back this year but I am not sure. Later, Shelby PS any others you guys can think of?
OMG!!! I just went back through all my photo files to find this picture!! Do you remember me? I was the small blonde that was with Jeff Ford? Do you still have your can opener? LOL That is so cool!! Later, Shelby
I do remember you. Wow, how could I forget? Jeff Said he wanted to shoot my car for the magazine but didn't have the time. That was a major bummer!!! Is he coming to the NPD show too? The can opener is a permanent part of the car for sure. Although I'm thinking of bolting it down because when I went drag racing at the roundups I forgot to put it inside. I didn't think about it until the next day when I was cleaning the car. After a short panic attack, I opened the hood to find it still sitting there. Don't want to take any more chances like that.
That is me!!! The new to me/old to everyone else '70 Maverick is going to be the official project car for the YO Club. I didn't want to do another Mustang, and I wanted to represent and/or maybe inspire some of the other young owners out there with non-mustang cars. Not enough respect is given to Mavericks/Comets and I this is my way of opening shut eyes. Since i have bought the car, Maverick fever has swept the office and I have everyone wanting to know more about the cars. LOL I can't go a day without getting some e-mail concerning the car from one of my co-workers!!! Now that you guys know who I am..... Mavoholic ..... If you are going to be at the NPD show, I will finish Jeff's job!! Later, Shelby
Re: YO Young Owners Club. This is a non-profit club sponsored by Mustang Monthly and Mustangs & Fords for the express purpose of getting the younger Ford owners into the hobby. Anyone age 16-25 may sign up for a chance to win prizes and get to have their car published in a nationally distributed magazine. They must have a valid drivers license and own/drive a Ford powered vehicle. If you are not in that age group you are more then welcome to join, but you are not eligable for prizes. Right now we are 600+ member strong and growing everyday. Hope this enlightens you a little ... If you look is one or both of those magazines, you will find a membership form and an article about this months YO Club winner. Later, Shelby
