Ok... So I had some Hoker 6901's back before I swapped to a floor shifter and took out all the linkage.. I went to 2 muffler shops and they both said that the headers are hitting the frame... I told them about the bracket to drop the steering ram if that's what they meant and they both said "No it is hitting the frame and it needs like 1 and a half inches of clearance" What the heck is this supposed to mean? I mean the majority of people here have 6901's right? So what were these guys talkin about?
1 Are the headers in the car? 2 Do they hit the steering? 3 Did the exhaust guys take you under the car and point to what they meant? 1 If the headers are in what are you worried about? 2 If the steering works, what are you worried about? 3 Why didn't you tell them to show you the problem? It sounds to me like you are worried about a problem that has not been a problem... Dave
Nah, the headers aren't on the car, I didn't ask the guys cuz I figured they were feeding me a bunch of BS, I'll take it to a street rod place instead
many of us are running the 6901's with no problems. sounds like they didn't know how to do it or didn't care to.
Did he say what side was hitting? I'm guessing they were trying to install these without jacking the motor up . You never know with some people.
