dumb founder about steering box interchange

hey everyone, my name is chuck ,I'm a proud owner of a 65 mercury comet . not trying to be rude but I have a question about the steering box.It's manual I'm changing the automatic column to a floor shift.what will interchange in the manual boxes that has a rag joint style with rear steer

late 60's mustang, falcon, i think fairlane, should have what ya need,

The late 60's Mustang has a 1-1/8" sector shaft...the '65 Comet has a 1" sector shaft. Don't know about a Fairlane or the bolt pattern on a Fairlane or '66-70 Falcon.

yes, i am not sure on all sizes, i know the one on my 66 falcon, was not the same as my friends 64, not sure on fairlane either, gonna have to get out the caliper,,

 

66-70 Falcon and 66-67 Fairlane shared the same steering/suspension and a bunch of other parts. They will use the same steering box.

 

67 and up Mustang have a rag joint I think.

Late 67 did...the early 67 had the long shaft. Don't know the change date.
