I know the 302 was introduced in the 1971 model, but my husband and I were wondering if anyone knew how many Mavericks were produced with a 302. I can find numbers on the models offered (ie. 2 door, 4 door, Grabber) but I can't find numbers on engines. Anybody got any info?

When I put my car info into Autozones website, there is a drop down window to select engine size. There are percentages next to each one. Not sure how accurate it is though.

Hmmm.. I've never seen that info on the autozone site in the past and I just added a 1972 Maverick with 302 option under "my vehicles" and find no numbers like that. :hmmm:

My husband and I tried that, it split it 80% and 20% between the two 6 cylinder models.

For 2 door Grabbers, it was 17847 in 1973, and 9143 in 1974. With automatics.

I see that......I have a 6 cyl and never paid attention to the 302. My year adds up to 100% and no 302s are listed, that ain't right.

Only way to know for sure is with a Marti report, even then you'll need two for each year... One with automatic & another with manual trans...
