Very true and I always just assume that word means.. "custom install". :)

And if you look at the typical header collector angles on these cars?.. there's no way that a straight piped setup like that would work. You'll also likely need to add another turn-in right after the trans to more closely follow the tunnel and then turn them back out to meet up with the mufflers too. Which basically means that you'll only use about half that kits straight pipe.

If you really want a nice smooth and high flowing exhaust system?.. buy some mandrel J or 180* bends, flanges, hangers.. maybe some flex's too?.. along with the mufflers of your choice and then have a muffler shop add their straight pipe to fit it all together for you. That extra $200 bucks spent will easily pay for itself over time due to efficiency improvements.

PS. not sure how long you could wait?.. but Pype's is supposedly looking at doing a VERY nice stainless setup for these cars for around $400. That's a smokin' deal for full SS! :thumbs2:

cant wait that long, I will just take it to the same shop that did the exhaust on my six, hopefully I can make it there without attracting too much attention with open headers :biglaugh:

I have a set of headman header extentions..would that same x pipe kit work on mine by bolting them on with band clamps?

I have them on headman headers with the ball sockets. I raised the car and mocked them up and tacked them together. Then pulled the whole system down and welded it all solid. The best system I've ever had.

Thrush 89025 kit fits pretty good with some trimming.
