If the C4 is behind a 200...You will need a bell housing for a 302 or a 250 I 6. You will be adding clutches to the trans as well going from a 6 to an 8. Sounds like fun though!!! And welcome to the universe!!!

yeah i just finished rebuilding a c4 and they are pretty simple. if you have some mechanical ability and some time you should do good. get a book and go for it. the one thing i would say is keep everything clean and you'll be good.

I think badshoe has a video on rebuilding c4's. If it's anything like their other video's, it's very detailed and very well explained.

ok...so last night I finished bleeding the brakes and actually drove it home (from my 4-car storage-unit) for the first time! I still have some issues to attend to, but it's easier to tinker with the little-things than the whole thing at once ! I bought a "donor" 94 Mustang for the drive-shaft yoke and the brake system pieces to complete the rear-end swap (locker, disc-brake ), and various other pieces (bucket seats and little things)
Gotta say, the ol'school cragars do look good on the front ! I do feel better about getting rid of the old drums too! I'll post pics this weekend to show it off ! -laterz-

ok...it's been a little while and my-oh-my do things have a funny way of working things out! After finding out that the mustang had a hole "hour" of use on the "race" clutch (then the kid preceded to rear-end a pick-up truck) and since I had the whole car to part out, i decided to use the tremec 5 speed behind my HO 5.0. so now, I'll use basically the whole running gear out of the 'stang in the Mav. (pedal assembly, tranny, drive shaft and the 'stang rear i bought). I apologize for not knowing what all the guys on here are describing as the "v-8 crossmember vs. the straight six" (I cant find a pic anywhere on here and my mav is open from the core-support to the firewall) and I have built motor mounts and crossmembers before, I'll place the motor where it needs to go and scratch build one. luckily the clutch is a cable one and not a hydraulic one. I scored an eldelbrock intake and a holley to replace the FI, for ease of installation for now. I can always up-grade to the FI at a later date. anyway...I just took 3 days and stripped the 'stang for it's usable parts and things I think I might need for the transformation. Monday starts the removal of the mavs drivetrain. wish me luck !

Hello again...after a 6 week thrash, I was able to drive it around the building! I have the stupid lil things left to enjoy it on the street...like fixing the wiring in the trunk for little necessities like lights !...lol. Exhaust helps alot too, running 2 1/4 to two-chamber flowmasters. I also found that a 96'stang master cylinder bolts up to an 86 Suzuki Samurai brake booster, which bolts up to the maverick pedal assembly at the firewall. Thats a combination that isn't easy to explain to someone! Heres a couple'a pics to show the 70's vibe the Mav is puttin off (black shag carpet and all)!...laterz...
