    Really! I was reading an article about Bob Carpenter who was a Ford engineer from 1962 to 1995. This appeared in Hemmings Classic Car magazine in Sept 2010. Here is a relevant portion of that article....

    Looks like they started with the 1975 model year.... and were the FIRST cars done this way. Neat stuff.

    That's really cool. Would love to have seen those robots. I work on MOTOMAN, ABB, OTC and FANUC robots every day at work (OEM supplier for GM, Volvo, Caterpillar, John Deere, and some overseas stuff). No spot welding, but we do robotic brazing, TIG and of course lots of MIG.
