ok im doin a SMALL to BIG bumper conversion. am i just young dumb and well bald. has anyone else done this?
Dude.. that's cool! Go Big bumpers! lol.. I actually prefer the big bumpers to the little ones.. but I've never done any converting as such..... Just wanted to cheer you on, that's all Jason
Well, you can probably get a number of people to trade you out the parts you need but quite honestly you are the first person I have ever heard of going "to" the big bumpers. I'm kinda hoping you just made a typo because most everyone else is going the opposite way. If it's not a typo, you should be getting lots of response to this posting.
Due to the weight of the bumpers and the giant bolts and threaded inserts Ford used and welded into the front and rear frame rails ... I'm guessing a small to large bumper swap is going to be much harder than going large to small ...
ok so what youre saying is that i will need another case of rootbeer (minors cant buy beer therefor keep it in the name)
what dan, said, are you doing the rear also?...if so you will need the whole ass end of a donor car. tail light panal quarter tips bumper mounting brackets filler panal why oh why!!! your are just kidding...right??? this is almost like a "chebby thing". ...frank...
im broke and cant afford valences. besides i think itll look a bit better once the bumperettes are gone. please explain the rear bumper conversion on how its difficult  stefan this thread may need to be moved real quick
The tail light panels are the same. I do believe the rear crossmember is much sturdier to support the weight so you will need to cut that out of another car or reinforce the one you got.
I wish more people were going to the BIG bumpers...I just put mine out at the dumpster a few weeks ago, because nobody was interested in them. Almost MINT condition. I hope someone came by and picked them up.
big/small bumper? I guess Im new.. what is the difference between the big and small bumpers.. any pics? I need a new rear bumper I think.. not sure if it is salvagable. I was rear ended at a stop light!
Mine went into the dumpster. I thought they would make good substitutes for the concrete parking space bumpers.
