Put on spacers, bled the brakes, put the wheels back on and they are still rubbing.

    I will need different rims.

Can't afford them now. I need junkyard or cheap beat-ups soon, or I can't make it to the Maverick meet.

Any suggestions on where I can get some temporary cheap wheels in the 16-17-18" X7 or X8 range?

Where are they rubbing? ... the calipers?

Yes, calipers on the inside edge of the rim. Just barely, I can move the tire, but it is rubbing.

Just remembered I have a set of slicks on aluminum rims in storage. Gonna grab them and see if maybe they will fit. They are also 15X8...

Can you grind/file the calipers for extra clearance?

Could...but don't want to mess with the engineering.

I got my slicks out of storage, mounted them without that spacer, and I can slide my pinky-finger all the way around the caliper.

So temporary fix has been found!

So I am coming to the Maverick Meet with these rims on the back.

Those ET Streets are worn below the wear bar. Likely 1999 model year tires. Not sure if I feel comfy driving on them.

Might get my 255/60s pulled off the cragars and mounted on these for now.

    Exactly.....you don't have much time.

I would grind on the calipers. There is a lot of meat on there.

Grind the calipers. Done it many times. There is a lot of metal there. If you can turn it but it drags, you won't have to remove much. 4.5" angle grinder with a flap disk will work wonders.

Those rims with the slicks on fit just fine. I have at least 3/8" clearance all the way around the caliper. So these rims will work for the short term. I will just put my old meats on them to replace those scary old slicks.

Or might just show up with the slicks on. I don't plan on doing any driving on them. Just on the trailer, off, and back on.
