I won an auction for a Comet GT grille. Looked good on the photos but I couldn't confirm it to be a GT specific grille. Fast forward a a week and a half and its wrapped in one layer in bubble wrap and not boxed.

I inspect it and its not a GT grille but looks ok which is fine with me

I start checking the other corner and find the corner busted off. Looks like a fresh break too, so it must have happed during shipping.

I can't believe people ship 40 year old plastic car parts with no boxes. Leave negative feedback.

Also, '73 up GT grilles were the same as non-GT grills, they were just blacked out. I assume you are talking about the '71-'72 GT grills which used stainless steel slats.

It was posted as a 72, it's too bad because it's nice grille otherwise.

Try to resolve with seller first before leaving negative feedback, if it cant be resolved talk to ebay about the poor packaging. Ive managed to get a refund nearly every single time Ive had an issue whether its from the seller or ebay.

I'll hold off on negative feedback. I'm sure something can be worked out

All purchases on ebay now have automatic "satisfaction guaranteed" for the buyer. Forget the feedback - just turn it into ebay AND paypal as item not described - you will get your money back. Some sellers pay return postage too. Depends on what they have in their TOS regarding refunds.

DO NOT contact the seller 1st - start the ebay claim and then they will respond to your claim through ebay. Do everything through ebay - it is your protection.

Any caring on the seller's part seems to end with the Paypal payment clearing

Wow.....no BOX......that amazes me. What do people think happens in shipping? That all items are gently carried from place to place...on the backs of kittens? Wow.

wow didnt even try to protect it from damage.

its amazing it even arrived in that condition with no box. that shows xare on the shipping companies part. just 40 year old plastic cant be safe just wrapped in plastic bubble wrap

definitely not as described and damaged in shipping poorly packaged and most likely charged you a good amount in shipping so I would say a SHADY SELLER get your money back THEN leave negative or neutral feedback

ebay will resolve this for you positively in your favor regardless of what the seller says. dont sweat it just sucks it didnt atleast arrive safely in a nice box

I'm not too worried about it. I thought $40 would've gotten me a box. The seller contacted me by phone and asked if I received the grille a couple days before I picked it up at the post office. He seemed pretty reasonable.

I bought a grille from a member here a few years back, he made a wooden crate for it that located on the tabs so all surfaces were suspended completely away from the interior of the box. Can't ask for more than that!

e-bay is getting too hard to deal with too many fees -final value fee- shipping fee- pay pal fees I closed my store it is easier to sell elsewhere and cheaper I still buy occasionally but not very often Craigslist and Facebook has no body sticking there hands:Handshake in your wallet

I ended up opening a claim through ebay. The seller got back to me and said he'd give me a full refund and to go ahead and keep the grille for my troubles. Hopefully this changes the way he ships items.
