On the 1973 Mercury Comet the front brake drum seems like the wheel hub/bearing assembly is built into the drum or pressed in. Do we need to get it pressed out and pressed into our new drum or is it just rusted in really bad? I haven't been able to find any information on it anywhere.

Press out the wheel studs. Then you can remove the hub from the drum easily.

Some of them can be crimped, you need to grind the crimp off, then remove the studs, and replace them.
