    :huh: I dont know very much about cars but i was wondering what could i do to my car to help it start up right away...normaly you have to pump it for a little bit then it will start...is there anything that will help?:hmmm:

    as far as I know, that's just a trait of carburated engines, maybe you could change the choke on the carb, but not sure how much that whould help pumping the gas

    These cars are not fuel injected like modern cars. It is very normal to have to pump it.

    i just thought that you could do something...for less pumping. A guy i work with said i might need a new carb. kit??:confused: i dont know how this would help.?

    Probably not, especially if the car runs fine once its started. As suggested, get a good tune up and have the choke set properly. I believe 75 was the first year for electronic ignition so you should have that already. If not, I'd convert it.

    thanx for the help(y). yes it does have electronic ignititon. it runs great once its started and it has a brand new tune up!!

    really just the nature of the beast.....someone with another maverick might get in it and if he/she pumps the gas it will flood.:huh: ...some do, some don't:hmmm: . As long as it is driving good I would not have a great concern about it.
