Hi there Fellow Maverick & Comet owners.. Glad to be finally back on this site again.. I have a 77 Bronze 2 door maverick with 250 in Six (radio delete car) that I have owned for 17 years. I got the car from the 2nd owner who got it as an original barn find, that second owner was my nephew, at the time the car had 23k on it. he was 16 years old and picked up for I believe around 400 dollars... (unbelievable, right) the car had gone through a good cleaning and he couldn't wait to take it to school to show his friends. my brother told him that it wasn't a good idea because if it got wrecked parts will be hard to come by... Well he was right, that first time driving it to school a young gal in an AMC Concorde flying across the parking lot hit him in the drivers side front fender, bumper, headlight, and Grille.. after a couple of years and lots of money sweat, tears & a lot elbow grease from him my brother & I.. Then the car looked better then new when it rolled out the dealer drive... He was heading to Collage in flint around that time and the car was not practical to get him there to Collage, so he decides to sell it... after being up for sale for about a month, one day I took it up to the quarter car was to wash the dust off it and while driving it I decided to buy it from him... He sold it to me for what he had to invest into it to make it back to the way it was (total cost Car plus all parts-Paint).. there has been numerous things that I have had to rebuild or replace over the years & it is really starting to show signs of its age now. currently around 35k miles. I will post some pictures of how it looked after the repair, restore and then some more current ones.. I am so glad that this site is available for us Maverick - Comet owners & look forward to conversing with you all!! AL Brooks
