How hard can it be to start the bolts to my new fuel pump? Is there some magic incantation I have to recite before the bolts will line up? Any tricks to this? Watched a few Youtube videos and they make it look so easy. It's a 302 engine
Bump the engine over to get the eccentric on the short side so it wont push on the pump lever while installing the pump.
Back in my prime I remember being able to grab the crank pulley and turn it slowly while holding the pump up in position.
Im with rotating the crank. To rotate the crank i just push down on the belt with my hand that drives the crank (in my case its the power steering belt) and pull up on the fan to rotate it and the crank.
I spent hours trying to bolt that sucker on. All it took was a simple bump of the starter and she slipped right in. Thanks for the tip! They never bother to tell you these little details in the instructions or YouTube videos. Don't know what I would do without this forum! Thanks guys.
