My seats have only been in my car for just over two weeks. I attended a car show today in Belleville, Michigan. It was their largest show to date with about 140 cars. While I was at the show my interior guy, Jerry Stewart, who lives in the area was also at the show. He had his 72 Dodge Dart at the show. It was the first time he saw my car all put together. I told him one of my goals now that the car is done was to win a Best Interior Award. I also told him when/if that happens I will take the award to his shop and present it to him. Well lo and behold I WON! True to my word as soon as I received the award I walked over to him and presented him with the award. :Handshake Here's a few pics.
In Victory Park at the south end of town. For the last 13 years they have had a car show on Father's Day as part of their National Strawberry Festival.
Yeah, when my brother and I started working on my car my original intention was to make it exactly like my first car. He painted the interior Ivy Gold and started painting the outside of the car and said these colors just don't go together. My wife said they didn't go together 40 years ago. So that's when we decided to do a custom interior and my wife and I went and picked out the vinyl and fabric. My brother then had to repaint the interior to match the vinyl we picked out. The interior is sure getting a lot of attention. It looks like an interior they could have put in the car back in the 70's when cars were still colorful.
