strap bolts

    what size are the carriage bolts for the slots for the gas tank? 7/16??

    The bolt is 3/8" 16 tpi x 3"...the square shoulder on the bolt is close to 7/16"

    so do I get a carriage bolt marked as a 3/8 or 7/16?

    Get the 3/8". If you are doing the late tank in a early body you need longer bolts and cut to length.

    ok thanks...but while I am at it, it really looks like my valance panel is going to be severely blocking the bolts from going straight down...any ideas?

    yea I definitely need to do something to the ones in the back...but what's the deal with the ones towards the front?? it needs like a 1/2 carriage bolt

    there are no bolts in the front...71 up.
