Hello everyone I'm not necessarily new to the forum, I've silently maneuvered my way through the vast knowledge of this forum for about a year now but became a member roughly a month ago. I picked a 71 Mav with a 200ci I6 last September from the original owner; it was love at first sight. But sadly a few days ago I noticed I have a leaking gasket. Now I don't mind rebuilding the engine but I have found people selling spare one. I came across a 250ci that was in a 73 Mav and I was wondering if it would bolt up to my 71's transmission??? I've checked out the fordsix site and it talks about how the "mustang's 250ci" has the same bolt pattern as the 289/302s and I was also wondering if the same goes for the maverick's I6??
from Virginia Beach There are a few differences... The bell housing is larger for the 250, the shift linkage is different, and the engine stands (the ones that bolt the engine to the motor mounts) are shorter. Good luck
