The night before shipping i finally found a windshield and got it installed.
Its not a clear one as i wanted, it has a blue shadow on top, but at least i have one!

Looooong time passed i havent been on here.
but finally my thread will go on...

in my last entry i was preparing the car to be shipped to switzerland.
if i had known in the beginning how horrible that would be i would have never done it.

the Container and the car took more than 4 month to arrive in switzerland.
i was sooo angry! thousands of mails, phone calls and everything went back and forth until they finally managed to get the Container through mexican customs onto the ship.
they made a mistake of 40 USD which made cost of over 15000USD (luckily on the bill of the shipping Company).
they had to open up the Container and take out the cut car back Clip car and send it separately by airfreight. a box of 2x2x2m and 400kg! just incredible!

well im doing great now back in my country, but i was soooo fed up with the car, mexico and everything i didnt want to see and hear nothing for a while...

so the car was here in march, but i didnt find a place to work on it for 8 month since i returned. it was horrible.
now i finally found a great place which i could rent starting this month. it is perfect, but very expensive.
it is very good equipped with lift, compressor, heating and a lot of Tools and stuff which i could buy from the previous renter.
ill stay there untill i finish the restoration and then ill check for a cheaper place just to Keep it.

so Long Story short: i finally started working on the car again.

here some pics of the shop when i moved in and the car how it came here.

so now im starting disassembly to bring it down to pure metal, do alot of sheetmetal changing in the back, paint it new and build it back up with all new parts.
on the way there are many Little Problems to solve...

but im motivated and im working almost every night to make it happen this year as i want to finally drive it again next summer...
i will have the only maverick here and it will drive great if it works as i expect it to.

so there will be more updates coming again...

great to see you're back on track. i have finally started to work on my econoline as well.
the place you use is pretty well equipped - took me years to hoard stuff like that.
spoken to officials yet on the mods on the car, rack&pinion for example?

    Hey Mike,

Great to see that your back.

I can understand the absence due to being overwhelmed with the transition. Red tape issues are always very frustrating.

I am looking forward to hearing how it all goes from here.

It will be a whole different story now with such a nice workshop and familiar surrounds.

    hey all!!

thanks for your warm welcome back comments!!
its nice to be back working at the car!

the shop is great, im enjoying it alot and very happy having a lift.
will make lot of things easier.
also having a heating System for winter :)

right now im disassembling bit by bit and started improving the steering System again. (Details will follow...)

the Goal is to drive the car again next summer, but it will be lots of work...

an then the Problems with the officials are still to come, lets see if they will accept so many changes made by myself...
switzerland is very strict with changes, so it might get complicated or expensive... hope not!
