Are Maverick floor humps for manual transmissions different from the floor shift automatic hump.....if they are, were they unique to the Maverick, or did they share a common manual trans hump with other Fords, like the Falcon or Mustang? I know standard floor shifts are pretty rare on Mavericks, most being three-on-the-tree, like mine, but I'm putting a Toploader 4-speed in it, and want a nice factory looking floor hump as opposed to the old just-cut-a-hole-in-trans-tunnel-and-screw-a-Hurst-shifter-boot-to-shape. and, to add to the confusion, my car's a 69.5.....which I've heard came with a narrower trans tunnel than the 70-ups
The tunnel is the same for stick or auto...Floor shift automatics had a bolt on floor hump to mount the shifter...Stick does not.Just cut a hole and your good to go.
My dad had a 71 Grabber 200 I6 with a 3 spd floor shift. I had a 72 Grabber with a 200 I6 with a floor shift as well.
I looked high and low for a 1969.5 floor shift keyless steering column without any luck what-so-ever. A 3 speed manual was offered in 69.5 but even that was shifted on the column
You can see my floor hump on my thread comment #64 http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/73-grabber-project.93278/page-4
THAT is EXACTLY how I received mine! With the T56 Magnum mated to the Coyote, had to cut the tunnel as this transmission is a bit bulkier than the TL 4.
