I have one in mine - did it first with the stock towers in place and then later on how it is done now

What do you want to know?

I did a lot of research for placing a 351W engine that I owned in my 71 Maverick. It can be done, but not easily. I was told here that I should dump the 351 and use a 302 . The 351W is about 4" wider than a 302. That is still a pretty tight fit but at least liveable. I sold the 351W ( was picked up today) and ordered a built 302. You can get headers for the 351 at several places but I found Crites Performance to have the best fit for the 351. I myself was not willing to cut shock towers to put in a 351.

    Huh?? A 302 is 18¾" wide, while a 351W is 21"...

Yes the big Windsor is a snug fit but doable without cutting, I'd go 347 if the extra inches were necessary....
