Hey guys. Just want to see if anyone can tell me by looking at these brief pics if my lines look normal? They look terrible and hang down loose. I know there is a little bracket missing that attaches to the bottom / side of the block with the earth but the lines don't seem to have ever been up that far. Even if someone can just look at my pics and tell me if they are normal that would be great. Basically trying to see if new lines will look better under there or to just persevere with the ones I have. Cheers.
I don't have an automatic to compare them to but they do seem to be hanging loose and need some sort of brackets
I can't tell from the pictures but there are small metal clips that hold the lines together. They might help.
Those lines are not original.....or if they are....they are bent up something terrible. I know this picture is small....but the lines should be closer to the block and the exhaust should not "split" them.
Thanks guys. I wasn't too sure if it was just the clips missing or they were totally f'd. A Mustang supplier here in Aus offered a clip that attaches to the block as well as saying there are other clips that would come with the lines when new. Mustang lines ok?
Those things are pretty hideous. Not sure if clips will help much. They are reproduced here in the US. Maybe the Mustang market down there has a new set that you can make work. From the trans to a point on the engine, the lines should be the same. If the radiator side of your lines are not too bad, maybe you can graft the new Mustang ones to the radiator side of the Maverick ones. I recently did this to use AOD lines to attach to the Maverick radiator. http://www.getdiscbrakes.com/drop/Catalog/Maverick-Comet.pdf Micah
Gees Craig why don't you wash that under carriage, it is a disgrace. Years ago after totally destroying the ones on my Mustang, I made my own. Of course the engine and tranny were sitting on the floor at the time so it allowed for easy access. I just left the radiator ends straight and undone until the drive train was back in the vehicle. Now you can buy complete Mustang ones. You may be able to use a set from a 67 -68 without too much modification. With the way those lines snake around the exhaust I am surprised your tranny fluid does not boil over.
Maverick lines are made be www.RightStuffDetailing.com and are also sold by several Maverick vendors.
Well I haven't driven it on a road as yet so time will tell. I don't plan on driving until they are done properly. I will look into those mustang ones for sure. Thanks.
