I replaced the rear main seal once but it seems to still be leaking. What brands do you use? Of course I installed with some good Ole rtv. I also am going to be replacing the rear pump seal. Anything I should know? I'm getting oil and trani fluid leaking from the bellhousing (the front in between motor/transmission).

Is this a 1 piece or 2 piece seal? Felpro brand seals have always been good to me.

Did you put thread sealer on the flexplate bolts at the crankshaft?

FELPRO 2921 is the recommended choice for the rear main .

It is a one piece seal.

Yes I did use thread sealer on the bolts.

And I do believe it is the correct flexplate.

fel pro has a ptfe rubber seal. part #BS40644
its better than the standard rubber ones.
make sure your crank seal surface has no groves or knicks on it.
is the rear main cap sealed to the block?

And put a film of grease between the seal and the crank to avoid a dry start.

The FelPro 2921 Seal is a "Performance" Seal .. the BS 40644 is for a "Stock" Rebuilders Replacement Seal ..
I think there is a difference of $ 6.00 more for the Good One .. I STILL recommend the FelPro 2921 for the
engine . Hope this helps .
