I drove to Breezewood PA Saturday (2 1/2 hour drive one way) to meet a couple of forum members who had purchased some parts from me. I met JoeB (Joe Bishop) and mergt73 (Rusty) from the forum there. It was about 5 degrees when we got there at 10:00 am Saturday morning. It was a pleasure meeting both of them, just to bad it was so cold and everyone was under tight schedules to be at other places. We shuffled of the parts to one and another and off on our merry ways. I have to give Rusty's wife a big thumbs up. She was actually going with him to a salvage yard in Hagerstown MD to walk and look for Maverick/Comet parts as cold as it was. I wish you both good luck with your projects and hope the parts serve you both well. It is always a pleasure to meet new people from the forum an put faces with names. Maybe next time it will not be so cold and we will have more time to chat and have breakfast maybe. Thanks Allen Small
This is a GREAT community!! I have been fortunate to meet several members in person. Nice to know there are even local people that share the same passion, and this forum has brought us all together!
I have had a few visitors from the forum stop in on their way from point A to point B - the long distance award goes to Tody from Cologne Germany who stopped in for a visit on his way from Germany to Las Vegas
I always like to meet and talk to members on here or any Maverick person that enjoys these cars. Well and ofcourse anybody that ever met me knows I have the gift of gab or blarney LOL.
Very nice, I had an unexpected but very pleasant visit on Friday from a member here on the forum, Ray - maverickoutlaw and one of his son's came over from St. Marks Florida, he had thought of some parts he could use and came by to see if I had any, we had a nice long chat, speculated on my new 408's horsepower and talked over problems I was having with the assembly on the tranny, I got to show him future projects in person, it was a great visit, always is when meeting up with fellow Maverick owners!
Remember I first met you, Chris, when you rang my doorbell and asked if I wanted to sell that old Maverick that had been sitting next to my driveway for way too many years
It was nice meeting you, Allen! You too, Joe! And thanks again for the parts. Sorry we couldn't hang around, but we had a great trip to the junkyard. Gotta love a gal who enjoys walking around a junkyard even when it is in the teens outside. The next time we get together we will definitely have to catch a meal.
Ah yes thats right LOL. I met many members that way whether they were members or became memebers after I promoted this site
It sure is nice meeting up with members from around the world. I've met up with members from western Canada, Germany ( @tody ), Brazil (@PWG ) and across the US.
It is good to meet others from the boards. I have made many great friend from the HD Forums and even though I am without a bike I stay in touch with them. So far I have only met three from here, Supermav (Todd), Matterick (Matt) and Tririte ( cant remember his name). Once the car is drivable I hope to hit some events where I can meet more.
