My shock towers are notched about an inch on each side, but drag racing isn't really my thing. I love drag cars; don't get me wrong, but my heart has never yearned to own one. I really want to make my Maverick into my dream car to drive on the road and at some autocross and/or tracks. My thought with the 351 swap has more to do with average power than peak power, and my Clevor idea had more to do with the "woah" factor than anything as scientific as potential ETs or cost effectiveness. I do realize now that an AFR-headed 351W is my best bet for my perfect Maverick. But I am filing away the turbo Clevor idea for the future. Like I said--maybe a full race SN95?
The problem w/ a clevor in a Mav is the headers.Look at Craig Hejda`s car that races with the Ozark Mountain Super Shifters & see it in a wheelstand, look under it.The tubing arrangement is quite extensive & very expensive, guess about $1600.Don`t get me wrong,I would like to build a clevor one day because of the power potential they have.Craig`s car right now is turning 5.23 in the 1/8 mi which will take about 850 HP to do that & he is using one.I am a realist that has a little bit of common sense and realize that combo is probably beyond my means.
