    BTW I searched the net about common facts for the company that used the Maverick in that ad, wanted to be sure not to give away info that could be easily found...

    Yes, I remember the S&H green stamps, had to stick them in a book and send them off for stuff, the glue tasted like crap.

    What I was asking, what is the phrase, "you're smarter than the average bear" from?

    Yes, He made his debut in 1958 as a supporting character in The Huckleberry Hound Show.

    Yeah I watched those when they were new(in glorious B&W)...

    Other HB toons incl Incl Pixie & Dixie(with Mr Jinks), Quick Draw Mc Graw(with Bobba Louie), Huckleberry Hound and no doubt others I'm forgetting... Those HB cartoons were a breath of fresh air after watching Heckle & Jeykill(sp?), Betty Boop and Tom & Jerry(though I liked that one), etc...

    I think probably everyone liked the Roadrunner...
