It was really great!!! Today was a practice day. So with the pan hard bar working so well last time, i pretty much had to restart trying the different sway bars. On pro touring, several people, including chris from here, recommended putting the 1 1/8 bar on the front and the 7/8s on the rear. Thats what i did. The car is incredible. Completely in control and predictable and sticks to the ground like it never did before. so here are some of the videos. this is my 4th run. i have the camera on the roof. it gives a good feel for how the course is. this is when i was starting to get used to the car and the course. this is my 6th run. the camera is on the main hoop of the cage. you can see how i drive the car but not much of the course. also you can see the gauges. heres my 8th run. i was driving the car like i stole it at this point. tomorrow is competition and ill have more video.
so a funny thing was we have a 93 db sound limit. after my first lap one of the workers comes up and notifies me that i hit 91 db. then the next run i hit 92.6. every run the worker would inform me that i was some where between 91 and 92.8 db!
so competition went great today. i hit no cones! the car was great. in the past competition days i was 6 to 7 seconds behind the leader. today i was 2 seconds behind. the downfall here is that the video is not as entertaining. ill post them. you can see the different lines i try though the different runs.
Looks great. I like the laugh at the end of the "Drive it like you stole it" run. Thats what its all about. You're courses are pretty wide open and are much longer than ours. Doesnt look like you had to get on the breaks very hard at all.
I had realised that I didn't need much braking by the last run. I think I just tapped then twice. First right out of the first slalom going into the down hill turn then at the end of the downhill straight into an off camber sweeper. I know I was still holding back and could have gone harder at a lot of the course.
