    i have a new carburetor on my 74 maverick i got it to start fine, but it refuses to idle ???

    More info needed... Does it idle too slow, rough, etc... Vacuum lines hooked up and correct, timing in spec? Tune up items(plugs, wires, etc) OK???

    honestly its in need of a tune up and the vacuum lines are not hooked up correctly. know were i can get a diagram of the proper setup (i bought it yesterday)

    Once you get the vacuum hoses figured out, start it up, get it to idle, then set the initial timing, if that calls for 6*BTC, set it to 10-12*BTC, the engine should like the extra timing lead. Then go back and set the idle at the throttle shaft, then fine tune the idle with the mixture screws. What ignition are you running ? (points, electronic ?)
