Thank you, I was looking for a Maverick, found the site and found the car through the site, so I guess it's all linked... [IMG]

I know Mark was having separation anxiety over the car... I feel for him... But I believe we worked out a "mutually beneficial" arrangement... [IMG]

I've met Mark and checked is car out at a Roundup. First, I cant believe he sold it but secondly, you got one super nice Maverick.

The blue one looks nice till you look at the underneath pics. Everything that hold fluids appears to be leaking. If he wants more than 7 G's for it, he should have had the headers ceramic coated. Also, the aluminum fillers for the shock towers appear to be rivited in. That's a lot of structure gone from the front end. I wonder how much the front end flexes when cornering because the shock tower braces are gone. I do like the stance! But I wouldn't pay 5g for it. It's like someone else said, what's worth $500 to me, may be worth $5000 to you because it is EXACTLY what you want.

Screw the shock tower braces... I don't run them, and this car has been a drag car for a long time. The guy before me didn't run them in it either.
I know several guys that don't use them actually.
I know the underneath wasn't that nice, but i'd prob go thru the motor anyways, so new seals and gaskets is part of the maintenace
I dont know if id pay that much, but the cars are nice

Thank you, I believe I got a very nice car out of it, and in the final analysis, things are worth what "you" think they are worth. (as others have said).

I've got to do all the paper work today, get title, tags, all of that, and then it will feel a little more like "mine".

Later this week I'll meet up with my buddy (the mechanic - I have no skills) and we'll start planning... [IMG]

Well, Like I said at the end of my post....one man's trash is another's treasure. Heck, just look at all the crap people sell on Ebay! If I had kept some of the stuff I took to the dump just 5 or 10 years ago, I could sell it on ebay and buy 3 Mavericks...1 to drag, 1 to drive and 1 to road race.

not to highjack this thread. But "droopie" did mention...when cornering.
I agree, strip car, no need at all for them. I do not run them either(but then again I have plates), but for a street car, I would have the braces on all the time.

Yea, i meant for cornering :)
But I wouldn't even use them for street use.
That's just because this car would be a cruiser around town, and wouldnt do much highway miles or corners, etc...
But I do agree, they stiffen it up a bit
