I made a fusebox/relay box for future accessories (elec fan and lights) today. I wanted something that would keep the dirt out. While browsing for what I thought I wanted (a Pelican case or some other waterproof box) I found a pistol case at the sporting goods store. It fits perfect, has a legitimate hinge, and has clasps. And less than $10. I folded a piece of galvanized sheet metal roofing and riveted it to the back of the case so I can screw components into it. Then the whole assembly is screwed to the shock tower. It worked a lot better than I had even imagined. The only test that remains is if it will withstand the heat. It seems fairly sturdy so I'm thinking I'll be ok but we will see. I'll let you know if it all turns into a twisted lump.

That's outstanding!!! And a lot cheaper than my Painless accessory fuse box...

    Great work...

That is a nice idea -- if it stands the heat -- is the question.

I'm rather proud of it myself. Hopefully it holds up!
And a pistol case! How cool is that?
