So........ I have this Comet................ Anyway....... My 1973 Comet is in need of a fan shroud. I have the original radiator. Anyone got one?
So I was asked the following: 6 cly or V8? Ans: Straight 6 A/C or Non-A/C? Ans: It originally had AC, but doesn't now. It will soon though as I am moving back to Texas California car or 49 state car? Ans: Not sure what this means
Hi Anne Reason for difference in A/C vs non is probably fan and/or the radiators are different size...Usually back in'70s a non A/C 6cyl didn't have a shroud, though if it had the extra cooling option would have probably had the A/C cooling components... The Comet your engine came from didn't have a shroud and I don't think it ever did... Calif car means it probably had a more elaborate emissions system, possibly could dictate size of radiator... The door sticker will have a two digit DSO code that can be decoded by chart to tell where it was originally delivered... Post that number and myself or another member can look it up...
I seem to recall that 6 cyl cats also had a different shroud based on size of the motor as well: 170, 200, 250
so Anne, you thought this was going to be easy....LOL we are trying to find out what you have, then we can start looking for one...
I think Cleveland DSo is 32. That's what mine is and my car was originally sold in Ohio. DSO 33 is Detroit. Not that any of this matters in this case. Neither is a California DSO...
