Universal American torque thrust washers?

    I just picked up 4 universal American torque thrust rims for $40. They are older and need to be cleaned up but are in good shape. My question is from what I have been told I need a set of offset washers to make these work? If that is correct, what do they mean by that? Thanks!

    Ok thank you! So on the back it will have the manufacturer and information. I will contact the seller, probably a dumb question but what would be the problem with the lug nuts?

    ...and are a PITA to mount on the car. even after balancing they never go on the car the same way...:slap:

    Guess I might be rethinking these wheels... Well either way I don't have much in them at all. :)

    The wheel you have are a uni mount wheel for ford / chevy bolt pattern . The off set washers are used to center the wheels and are no problem to use and balance . So get them cleaned up tires mounted have fun.

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Problem with the lug nuts is: The shank may be too long not allowing the rim to be properly tightened down. This has always been the problem with unilug rims. Gotta use lug nuts with the proper length shank to get proper clamping force to secure the wheel to the hub.

    I had problems with them in the '80s. Never could get rid of the vibration until I got rid of the wheels. I hate uni-lug wheels.

    I have never had a problem with uni-lug wheels.

    ......but one has to use the correct lug nuts and washers.

    Now just have to clean them, another thing added to the growing lists of to do's...
