    Hello all,

I am almost positive I am right, but, I need an expert to settle an argument with me and my dad. I need to know the OEM wiper blades my car came with and I would like to obtain new ones.

I say that all Mavericks and Comets came with the Anco "red dot" 16" wiper blades up until 1977. In 1977, they came with the Trico 16" like full size Fords did from 1965 to 1968, and other Ford products and AMC cars through the '70's and even full size Chevrolet trucks through 1979.

I believe in addition to Mavericks and Comets, Dodge Chargers and related and Dart/Valiant in the '70's came with the "red dot" wiper blades.

I believe he thinks this is because I had a 1968 Fairlane with the Trico wiper blades and before I sold it, I took them off and installed them on my 1974 Maverick.

So, who is right? Thanks in advance. Craig.

I find a lot more Trico blades on cars than Anco.

Well, there is a bit more to the story. This week my son needed new tires and other maintenance done on his car. My wife suggested he drive the Maverick instead of her having to go get him at football practice. So, I agreed and he drove the Maverick. It came a rainstorm and he mentioned that those wiper blades were streaking, and could we replace them. (They were kind of hideous looking and my son asked if those came on the car, noting the different color.) I said, no, and told him what came on the car. His grandfather overheard it and that is where the "argument" started. A friend of mine actually had a pair of "red dots" new in the box (buried under many years of dirt/dust) and they are on the car. Dad's memory doesn't always serve him correctly. He worked at the local Ford dealer when Mavericks came out and he considers himself a closet "expert". I dug through photograph files and located a picture someone had taken out the windshield of a Maverick when we were on vacation years ago. Sure enough, there they were. That is why I posted here. I get good information from this site and I knew you all would know what should be on there. Anyway, thanks for your reply, Craig.

After I showed him that picture I dug out, there wasn't much to argue about. Thanks for your reply, Craig.

I think the Trico blades may be easier to find refills for....Thanks for your reply. Craig.
