who wants a teaser ??? I have been to bussy to toss the next pile of pics up on this resto , but will in time , the car is done all but the black accents , side stripes , and sidepipes right now , giving the paint plenty of cure time before cut and buff , then spray the black , add the stripes , and pipes .... it will be like 2 lazy days work to have it completely finished after curing /cut and buff , so stay tuned ...
Who wants an update , it's 99% finished , here are the pics , all I like are swapping the bumpers out , their was a set of NOS ones out there , their was a lot of NOS parts out there , that are no longer out there , as I bought everything not bolted , tied , and or welded down , this car is 100% as it was new , well as it was just days off the showroom floor that is , it has a few preference items , wheels being one of them , but the same thing as he put on it in 1974 , yes this is still a one owner car , not many of those left these days ... also note the sheen of the side stripes , NOS is not shiny like the repops , fyi good luck on finding a still useable set , it took 3 sets to pull it off , 40 years is not kind to any of them ...
Thanks , it's actually a current ford production color Blue Flame Metallic basically the exact of the factory color , but has pearlescent flake , the pics do it no justice, the car was actually painted twice , so it got what is called a soaker coat , the depth it added to the paint really made the color pop , and no painting it twice was not intentional , lets just say lack of light when spraying created clouds in the flake , so a screw up that actually made it worth the extra time to redo , but a $1000 oops in material alone lmao , it fought the whole way , you name it , and it happened in this build ...
