I bought a B&M Quicksilver shifter for my 70 maverick. Installed shifter put cable through floor, installed c-4 brackets on transmission from box. Problem is the cable will not go into bracket because support brace on bottom of floor for trans crossmember. Do i need to clearance the support? Anybody else with this issue in a
    70?

Looks like either clearance it or fab up another bracket. If you have a MIG, you could cut out a notch in the support, and box it in with plate, or a piece of square tubing with one side cut out to make a square U.

    Just a couple of ideas...

if i remember all i did was shift the tranny to the passenger side a small amount and then tightened the crossmember down. it was still a tight fit though.

My buddy installed that setup on his mustang and had to notch the cross member in order for it to fit,was still a tight fit .its actually a poor design, also make sure the cable doesn't get close to exhaust so it doesn't get damaged.
