    will an exhaust system meant for a 1970 Ford Mustang also work on my 1973 Maverick ?

    Straight bolt on....probably not.

    I have both a 70 Mustang and a 72 Comet. I can tell you the exhaust from a 70 Mustang will not bolt directly up.
