I'm always awkward with these intro type things...so....we'll just get to the more interesting of the two of us, my "new" Maverick. Just picked up this 1974 2-door, with 302, this morning. Bit rough around the edges, but solid. Though....the front suspension seems to be made of hyperactive jello. And the brake rotors have the topography of Utah. Power steering is nigh fictional. I think that's due to the pump being bone dry. That made for an interesting 100 mile trip, to bring it back home. Through Atlanta construction traffic. So, yeah. I love it already. This makes car #38 for me, but I'm still learning. Anyway, hi, nice to meet all of you. -Guncat
Good looking car, still amazes me how well the LDO interior holds up so much better than the standard stuff.
Thanks, everyone! Just rummaging through the man threads about steering, to get a game plan for mine. Refilled the power steering this morning, got one turn out of her, before some kind of muffled pop, and she proceeded to drain all the fluid to the ground from 3 different spots. I'm leaning towards the Unisteer kit, but hard to find reviews on it...and seems like most everyone favors switching to manual steering? Hmm...so much research to do.
