70 mav, i-6, 200 ci. has log head, intake unit. want a head with separate intake, for either tw0 2 barrels or three 1 barrels. have looked at the offenhauser 5970 unit which works but want something with more flow. porting the intake on a log head just doesn't seem worth the effort. anybody got a source for a cylinder head and intake combination? post or email, jwarmentrout77@gmail.com. Thanks.
You will probably get a lot of "put a 302 in .." but there are many options for the simple 'Log Head' small block six to increase its' performance. The only vendor source for a removable intake - aluminum aftermarket head for the Ford small block six recently ended with the owner's unfortunate passing - (Classic Inlines). Perhaps another vendor may pick it up but for now only early Australian six heads and maybe Argentinian versions are the removable-intake alternative. But there are other performance options being developed and used by fans of the anvil strong small block six. Mavericks and other Ford six cars explore the options and share help with some interesting engine builds on the Ford Six Performance forums : http://fordsix.com/ . . . have fun
Welcome to the site from northeast Ohio!!! You didn't say what your plans are for your car however the gent at the following link has a different approach with a six cylinder solution: http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/ccrp-1108-1971-ford-maverick/ Enjoy your ride!
I have a stroked 460, bored, 429 boss heads, mics out at 496. Have an old nine inch, coil overs, and 4 link set up. At some point, I'll put in an 8 point cage, tubs, and redo the tunnel for a linko c3. Right now, just want to play with the stock parts and waste some time (and money). Thinking with the right head work, cam, 30 bore, crank trigger, should be able to pull 350hp out of the I6 if I can find a way to feed the thing. The offenhauser 5970 should work. Just looking for options. Thanks for the help.
what are the options for "crank triggers" for a 200? I was about 3K into a 250 (rebuild, cam and header) when I went 302...
We did this to my son's 1965 Falcon 170 six: Bored .030, new pistons, new forged crank, all new bearings, timing set, DUI distributor, Bosch double platinum plugs 1977 250 big log head milled .050 for compression bump , Weber 2 BBL My son has put 8K miles on it since the build and it is still awesome.
