    Howdy.
I've been asking for help in just getting my Maverick a bit more "UMPH". NBot much and Nothing major.
I have a 200 automatic stock in my '71 maverick.
Is there an upgrade for the fuel pump?
Also, putting a 2 BBL on there to replace my 1 BBL. A good carb and which adapter or anyhthing else I have to switch out for it? Air filter/cleaner also.
I sure appreciate the help so far. I've got the ignition switch out ordered. And, looking at switching out the 4 lug to 5. Things are coming along just fine so far.
    headers in the future also.
    Anyway...thanks for the help!

Why wud u need an upgrade fuel pump on a stock 200? I don't think there wud be any noticeable performance in changing to a 2bl on a stock 200. If ur not going to make changes in head, ignition, cam, header and the like, which can get rather expensive .... better off, leaving it like it is.

Agreed, a larger carb on a stock 200 isn't going to add performance.. Likely will have a large bog at low speeds and that'd be it...

Cool. Thanks Fellas. Not really engine minded. I can work on them, but don't really know the little in's and outs.
That's why I'll be asking a bunch of questions over my little improvements for my Maverick.
    I am switching to a
Pertronix Ignitor+Flame-Thrower Coil Ford 6cyl w/Autolite Distributor. So...the improvements are gettin' going.

as these guys have already mentioned.. the law of diminishing returns will hit that little motor harder than others due to size alone.

Your biggest gains will be found in more aggressive ignition curve(be sure to use and connect the vac advance pot to FULL manifold vacuum source NOT ported source which has no impact at idle).. and free flowing exhaust(mandrel/smooth bends are best) with performance muffler.

The stock camshaft has very lazy opening/closing rates on these motors and has much room for improvement as well but most fall victim to the old stroker mcgurk syndrome when they spec a new one out. If a little more lift and duration is good?.. then a lot more must be even better, right?
