As you can see in my 2 threads, maverick nomad and 280z rear end, I am getting ready for a major project, it has gone one step further, possibly too far.My brother has offered me a 77 280 z fuel injected engine and auto trans along with the front end from the firewall forward. I have a rear end and drive shaft.
A 280 Z powered Maverick nomad or even a 280Z powered regular 2 door maverick. What do you think? I'll take any advice or opinion, is this something that can be done or has been done before or do I need my head examined?:coco:

You taking a perfectly good Ford, putting in a ricer motor, and calling it a chevy. Yup, you've lost it.

    Heee Hee.
I once saw a Chevy Caprice rear clip mated to
    a 2 door Jaguar.

I approached, looked and left with only 1 question in my mind.

    WHY?

i say ......why the hell not?...........if you have the funds (and it will take quite a bit of them, i hope you have a money tree), the will (will you finish it once you start it) and the patience (you will be wondering why you did it the whole time and second guessing yourself the entire time) then i say go for it

you never know....someone somewhere might see it and think it is worth a bunch more than you put into it...one of a kind cars can be very interesting

and yes i agree....take pictures of EVERYTHING.!

    good luck

I would imagine that to be a very strange, do-able project. expect to work your ass off for the next year or two and make sure you build the hell out of that motor because you're already at a power disadvantage.

I think the wagon approach is the way to go, but not with the datsun parts. There'd be nothing cooler than a Maverick Country Wagon putting out the nice throaty sound of a 302.

I was looking at the 300z motor and trans but I took the easy way out and opted for a street boss.

Why not, put a header and a set of side draft webers and a custom valve cover whith some kind of ford script. I'll bet alot of people wouldn't know what the motor was.
