I already "built" this motor once nothing much just 302 bored .030 over little cam and what not and this has been since December. So now I'm talking to AD performance out of Washington St about building a procharged 331 my buddies have different foxbodys fixed up 331 turbo, 347 nitrous, 306 he's not sure what he wants yet.
So what I'm saying I'm gonna need a lot of help on trying to do this build. IMG_20151210_234314778.jpg IMG_20151026_172311669.jpg

if youre going to put any power adders on the first thing I would suggest is starting with a dart block.
good heads and forged internals then the sky is just about the limit for the 302 base.

Im building a blown 363 stroker for my car.that will be producing right around 1000HP.
you can also go with a 351 base stroker and have a total monster that youll have a hard time keeping any part of the car on the ground let alone the front tires.

just know the power level you want and buy quality forged internals and build on. ask TONS of questions from your engine builder and choose wisely because not all are the same.
make sure your engine builder has built plenty of builds in the HP range youre shooting for and can easily answer any questions you have. if they dont want to take the time to answer 100 questions go somewhere else. I bet I asked 1000 questions before I went all in on my 363 to the tune of $13,100

I don't completely understand the question with the way that was written. This new motor is for you?.. or your friend?

How much power do you want?.. and more importantly, at what budget?

PS. keep in mind that there are TONS of guys running power adders on low budget aftermarket cast stroker cranks these days. And if they can't afford really nice heads?.. they just turn up the boost or give it a bigger shot.

    I'm shooting for 700-800hp I'm looking at prochargers P-1SC.
Right now I'm looking at dart blocks because my Mexican block should split around 600hp my budget isn't to much of a problem this is gonna be over the next two years because I'm building a LQ9 for my 240sx

Being as you are going to use a power adder,I would go 331 because it has such a good rod to stroke ratio. You would be able to rev it to the moon & it will out last the others because the oil ring does not reach the wrist pin.Now the other 2 mtrs (347,363) you can get a shorter rod & get away from the wrist pin,but you are taking an eng. with a bad rod to stroke ratio & making it worse,& the piston skirts will suffer.

rod ratio and oil control issues aside.. not gonna go there this time.. another big advantage to slightly small displacements is the need for slightly less piston dish to keep compression ratio in check for high boost. It gets very tough to get enough crown thickness above the pin on shorter pin height designs(1.090") like the 347 uses. The ring pack gets too squished together to compensate for a heavier dish design too.
