After all these years of my Maverick being neglected:

    I am finally starting on repairing , starting with the front suspension, steering and upgrading to discs.. I am replacing everything, but I'm on the fence about replacing the pitman arm. I tried pulling and moving the center link , but there's no slack anywhere.. There are alot of comments about having to replace or not.. At the risk of asking a stupid question,, should I replace it anyway?

    I see no need to replace it, if it's tight/no slack in the system.

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Manual or power steering?? If Manual and pittman arm and c.l joints are tight. Not necessary to replace it. These parts are getting more scarce and costly as well. If its power steering... Same...

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    A 1972 Maverick pitman arm has no wearable parts...so no need to replace.
