    Hey guys,

I've been thinking of changing to a bench seat in the Comet. What about one from a minitruck? It really doesn’t have to be a split back seat, does it? Just get out of the car and fold it forward. It's not that anybody usually rides in the back very often. Trying to find something in the salvage yard that doesn't need to be reupholstered. BTW, has anybody found what will fit? Most cars from the last 20 years or so have buckets in the two door models.

    Thanks,

    John and Mikey in Kalifornia

Where in California are you located? I have a bench seat and rear seat in red cloth that I removed from my '71.

Now, if you have high backs that you are looking to get rid of, I'm definitely interested.

I'm in the San Fernando Valley. Yes, I think they are high back. Separate headrest which curve over the back. Can send pics if you want.

Sounds more like LDO (Luxury Decor Option) seats. Not as desirable as the 71-72 Highback Buckets...

Yeah, messaged him with the same thought. Offered my bench seat and rear for free. He is a bit too far away.

    Micah,

I looked at the seats you took out of the car you fixed up. They look good enough for me. Mikey is up for a road trip to pick them up. It's only a 16 hour round trip and 100 dollars or so in gas.

Don't think the Comet seats are anything anybody would want unless they are restoring a car and need originals. The driver's seat is needing work and is very uncomfortable. The shop wanted 400 dollars to redo it.

    Hey John,
I thought you got out of the Maverick scene? I've got the bench out of my car and it needs absolutely nothing. Bolt it in and go. I can't help you with the back seat though. I'm in AZ if I can help out.

That sounds like a good idea, too. Have you a picture?

It has the tracks under it. You just can't see them in the picture.

Those seats look nice. I have a friend who likes to take road trips to Utah, Nevada, etc to do some off roading and general non PC activities. He has a Sportsmobile 4 wheel drive van conversion and a trailer for his quads. He said he could pick up the seat on his way back. I'll let you know when he is coming your way, if that's OK. I'm not up to doing any traveling due to medical issues.

Thanks to all for the help.

Sounds good. Just give me enough notice so that I can make sure I'm in town.

I'm interested in the tracks if you can get them off.
