I have a 70 maverick with a 3 speed column shifter. I hate the 3 speed, love the car. I was considering doing a t5 swap. I have a 95 ranger with the 5 speed M50D. The frame broke on my ranger, wondering if it is possible to use the m50D transmission in the maverick, anyone who has any ideas please post before i junk the ranger.

I'm fairly those light duty versions in Ranger won't fit anything but the 4cyl or small v6... There were some HD versions used behind 5.0 & 3.8/4.2 V6 that could be used if you have a 250, or 302, otherwise you'd need a adapter(if such exists)... Also I believe all those trans use a internal throwout bearing hydraulic clutch, that would require plumbing if you had one that actually fit...

That M5OD transmission is a big transmission too. Would be a tough fit in a Maverick. Plus the shifter tower coming out of the top. Would have to have a custom made shift handle.
