Trying to remove the seats in my 73 mavric but there are these huge circular bolts with a star shaped tread holding it in place. What tool should i use to remove it?

Those sound like your seat belt bolts.

That is a torx bolt. Go to any auto parts store they will have what you need, if not harbor freight will have it.

No special tools are required to remove the seats. Just use a 7/16" deep-well socket and a ratchet.
The seat track studs go through the floor pan. Remove the nuts underneath the car.

I got my front seats out. Is it the same for the back seats?

Back seats are totally different. Push the bottom part of the back seat towards the rear of the car and simultaneously lift up as it is not bolted to anything...it just clips in. Once you remove the bottom section there are two bolts at the bottom of the back seat...one on each side. Remove those with the appropriate wrench and then lift the back portion slightly upwards and it should come out.
