I'm looking to add a shroud to my radiator and noticed that may radiator sets about 2 inches off center to the passenger side. The shrouds that I'm looking at seem to mount with the fan evenly spaced with the radiator. Looks like my fan will not let it fit. My car was originally a 6 converted to 302. Could it be that the sixes had the mount holes for the radiator off center for some reason? I found one thread were the fellow had a six and had ordered a new radiator and went he went to put it on it was too far to the driver side and the upper hose fitting was hitting the fan. This seems to support different radiator supports for the 6 and v-8.
    Does anyone have a clue?

Your radiator is not OEM, it is a modified aftermarket piece. That is what is causing your fitment problem.

Respectfully, what does that have to do with the radiator support bolts on the factory bulkhead being a different distance on each side. The aftermarket radiator is symmetrical, so why is it off to one side in the car?

No factory AC. The smallish radiator that is on it now is not doing a good job of cooling in stop and go traffic so I'm going with a full size radiator and hopefully a shroud. I want to figure out this offsidedness before I order.

Are you looking for stock type copper or alum? Several bolt in choices available!

Sorry, I didn't understand your question. The Maverick/Comet radiators do mount to one side. My electric fan and shroud are centered on the water pump and off to the drivers side on the radiator.

The following link will take you to a supplier that sells the correct fan shrouds if you are interested. You may or may not have a fitment problem with your non stock radiator or fan. The shrouds are on page 34.

I believe they are all offset like that because the lines for the A/C cars need to pass by the driver side of the rad.

I wondered why they were offset like that. Thanks for the info.

Don't worry about rad/fan being off center... Buy /Make a blank shroud ( no fan hole ) remove fan , install shroud to radiator take a wood stick (like a stir stick) half the diameter of the fan + 3/8" see drawing. and cut to the scribe line...
