C6 Trans, gear selector bracket.

    How do you remove the bracket? The previous owner welded a broken tab together and that sucker leaks like crazy. If I remember correctly the pan and valve body come off. This is on my f100 I recently purchased. Thanks guys

    Pull the pan, there is a nut on the back side. If they did the weld while it was installed it most likely cooked the o-ring.

    They fried a lot of things, I'm guessing the dipstick tube o-ring is missing as well. This sucker leaks like crazy and it has only been parked.

    when one has been parked for a while the converter drains down and over fills the transmission...it will even leak at the tail shaft seal. I fire mine up ever so often just for that reason.

    I'm sure that was part of it but I've been putting out fires since I got the POS. Thanks for the quick responses. I tried other vehicle specific sites but it takes hours or days to get any sort of response.
