For a few years now, I've been a fly on the wall since I bought my 1972 Maverick Grabber. I had to take care of all the other priorities with the house, kids and daily driver. Now, the Mav will get most of my attention.. I've recently started from the bottom, replacing the steering and front suspension and all new brake system including a front disc brake upgrade.. So far, I've haven't really had any big problems. I've ordered a pre-bent brake line kit.. The challenge is replacing the brake line from front to rear. So many bends! I did run into one concern with the front discs... It seems that the inside brake pad does not center on the caliper piston.. the edge of the pad is flush with the rotor. I verified the part numbers of the calipers and asked the parts man which was driver and passenger sides. I've attached pictures. Is that the way they are supposed to fit? Any advice would be greatly appreciated !
first tasks complete: replaced all hard and soft brake lines, rebuilt rear drum brakes, did a disc brake upgrade.. replaced all steering and suspension parts. now to get front end aligned.
